Britney Spears is pulling out all the stops. She now has her friends telling the press that she was bamboozled into going to a lawyer, reviewing and signing papers with said lawyer, talking over the ramifications of divorce with the lawyer and deciding to file for divorce. Sounds like a real shim sham to me. /sarcasm. The Daily Mail UK (via US Weekly) reports:
His behaviour plunged her into a breakdown, during which she desperately begged him to take her back, according to a hairdresser [Kalie Machado] who became her friend and assistant.
Kalie Machado said: ‘She would ask, “Why did he do this to me?” She felt so unwanted, and she’s already so insecure.
‘It just made her crazy and depressed.
‘In the beginning, she really wanted to get back together. She wanted so badly to have the father of her babies.
‘Britney was calling Kevin five days in a row nonstop.
‘She would look at Sean and Jayden and say, “Where’s your daddy? I need help. Where’s your daddy?”
‘She said she went there with the two babies and Kevin wouldn’t even let her into the hotel room,’ said Machado, 23.
‘So she had to get a hotel room for herself.’
Four days later, she announced that she was petitionning to end their two-year marriage.
She told Machado this was an attempt to demonstrate her anger to Federline and she had no desire to go through with a divorce. However, her husband refused to take her back.
‘She stood up for herself and it kind of backfired. (It) was what Kevin wanted,’ Machado said.
Machado said the singer hung her wedding dress up in her Malibu bedroom and kept framed photos of her and Federline all over the house.
Wow. So if one of Britney’s friends say it, it must be true. I mean, I can totally understand it now. Hey, the marriage was in obvious decline for months and she decided to dress him down in front of an entire Halloween party in NYC in 2006, but hey, he’s being totally irrational. Told by the magazine interviewer that she and Urban appeared happy together, she replied: “I don’t ever say that.”
“Partly because interviews are done in advance, and you never know where something’s going.
“People’s lives together are complicated and beautiful and that’s what they should stay. They’re very quiet. Complicatedly quiet. They don’t need to be broadcast.”
