viral spiral: will it blend? iPhone 3G edition

No joke, I’m not a fan of iphone yet. (too many features missing and the app store…who gives a shit? There are freeware apps for all of the other smartphone platforms out there that have been floating around for YEARS. It’s just Apple catching up to the smartphone pack. It’s a smart move, no doubt, as it’s the apps that tie users to a platform as they grow used to them and don’t want to lose ones they paid for.)

I am a fan of Blendtec blenders. If I had and extra $400 to blow I would absolutely get one as you can pretty much jam a corpse in there and it’ll be pulverized.

Check out what happens when iPhone 3G meets blender after the break. Continue reading ‘viral spiral: will it blend? iPhone 3G edition’

Nerd post: Firefox 3 is here!

OK, sorry for the nerd post but it is cool.

Firefox is trying to set a world record on Tuesday to have the most downloads in a single day. Check out their site HERE.

Basically, everyone should use Firefox. IE is too unwieldy now and Safari just flat out sucks despite what the Mac-heads say. Apple is basically Microsoft jr. as far as I’m concerned. That browser loves to crash about every 5 minutes and has half the functionality of IE or Firefox.

Go get Firefox, set a record. Be a nerd.

Fuck the internet! The Grid is here

Seeing as you are currently on the internet, this seemed like a story anyone using said technology should see.

The internet is about to become obsolete as ‘the Grid’ is here and it’s much faster. The London Times reports:

THE internet could soon be made obsolete. The scientists who pioneered it have now built a lightning-fast replacement capable of downloading entire feature films within seconds.

At speeds about 10,000 times faster than a typical broadband connection, “the grid” will be able to send the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue from Britain to Japan in less than two seconds.

The latest spin-off from Cern, the particle physics centre that created the web, the grid could also provide the kind of power needed to transmit holographic images; allow instant online gaming with hundreds of thousands of players; and offer high-definition video telephony for the price of a local call.

David Britton, professor of physics at Glasgow University and a leading figure in the grid project, believes grid technologies could “revolutionise” society. “With this kind of computing power, future generations will have the ability to collaborate and communicate in ways older people like me cannot even imagine,” he said.

This is about the greatest thing, ever, EVER. Of course they are ignoring the thing this new technology will be best used for: porno. You can now stream HD porn like it’s nobodies business! Oh yeah, I’m the only one who thought of that I’m sure. The 75% of the web being porn sites wouldn’t indicate that usage at all.

The full HD video on sites like youtube has to be seen as an exciting development as well.

The system won’t be fully in place in the academic setting until this fall. I expect that shortly thereafter, the commercial providers will be upgrading their systems to give users this functionality. There will be 11 hubs, of which I believe 3 will be in the US and 3 in Europe and 3 in Asia with the other 2 going to South America and Africa.

These are exciting times my friends…

dave coulier launches cleanguys.tv…kills edgy humor in the process

Dave Coulier who is best known from his ‘amazing’ turn on the hardcore smut fest Full House and finding any excuse to get on any TV show that will have him to do his fucking Popeye impression, has now launched a new video/internet tv website: Cleanguys.tv

Yes, as you may have guessed it is a website that essentially cuts all the funny shit out of comedy in favor of G-rated humor that a 5 year old would find a bit too fluffy for their tastes.

Seriously, Dave? We already have godtube.com if we want mind numbing Mickey Mouse shit to kill off the brain cells that survived the whiskey bath we gave them the night before after snorting a Tony Montana size mound of cocaine before beating our wife with a ‘wicked heart’ into loving us…or something totally hypothetical like that.

It’s LAME. There are a million ways you could have tried to resurrect your career. You were the subject of Alanis Morrisette’s You Oughtta Know which seemed to suggest that you 2 had a rather filthy sex life. Why not release a fuck tape of that? She isn’t hot and I’d have to give my eyes and acid bath and purification by fire if I saw you nude, but still, a celebrity fuck tape is a celebrity fuck tape. They are king makers.

Cut the shit already, fuck-o

Techno babble: NewsGator is now free!

FeedDemon by NewsGator is now FREE!

I currently use Google reader which serves it’s purpose for RSS feeds but alway salivated over the possibilities of NewsGator and now it’s free.

If you aren’t using RSS feeds by now, you are basically wasting twice as much time online than you actually need to. It’s basically like having bookmarks that show you what’s on the page so you can decide if you actually want to go to the site or not and not have to sit through load times if it’s a graphics intensive site.

So join us in the 21st century and get on the RSS newsfeeds train!

Barbara Walters Can’t Get Cyber Hookups

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usPoor Bawbwa Wawa can’t get any Myspace friends. The View founder and host Barbara Walters started a Myspace page and only has 2 friends….the default friends that everyone gets when they sign up for Myspace. People Magazine reports:

“I am now on MySpace,” the broadcast veteran, 78, told her View co-producer Bill Geddie on Barbara Live, her weekly Sirius radio show.

“What would bother me is if nobody got in touch with me,” she admited. “What if … nobody wanted to be my friend. I would be very depressed.”

Checking the computer to see just how many friends she actually does have on her MySpace page, Geddie was forced to inform Walters she has only two: MySpace founders Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson – who just happen to be two of Walters’s 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007 to be profiled on her Dec. 6

“Nobody else wanted to be my friend?” said a disappointed Walters. “Nobody I went to high school with? … Nobody wanted to get in touch with me?”

Hahahahaha! So sad! You’d think that she’d at least get some shit spammers who wanted to be her buddy by now. However, I think Babs learned an important feature of Myspace (and Facebook for that matter) the sole functions of those sites are to:

1) keep in touch with actual friends

2) follow bands and get updates

3) find people to hook up with who live near you. (this is probably the #1 reason people troll that site, maybe #2 to the bands)

So what have we learned from Babsies experience? No one wants to fuck a 70 year old journalist. Shocking I know. Continue reading ‘Barbara Walters Can’t Get Cyber Hookups’

Models Of Integrity: Harvey Levin Edition

Harvey LevinTMZ founder Harvey Levin filled in for Larry King to interview Larry Birkhead and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, what the definition of journalistic integrity is. Gatecrasher reports:

“Harvey said he could deliver Larry, but only if he hosted himself, to plug ‘TMZ TV’ [which launched this week],” says a snitch.

“Another condition was that no one else who was going to contradict Larry was allowed to call in live,” says the insider.

“Debra Opri [Birkhead's former lawyer, with whom he is feuding] called in to the switchboard during the show and tried to get on air, but they wouldn’t let her.”

The source claims other guests booked for the show were also dropped once Levin took over the anchor’s chair. “Larry [King] is livid,” says the snitch.

So basically he took a job to run a sham interview simply to plug his (god awful-sorry but it is) TV show and avoid all controversy so as to get more plugs in for said TV show. Continue reading ‘Models Of Integrity: Harvey Levin Edition’
