I’m not knocking People for running this story, but this has stuck in my craw over the last 4 election cycles or so.
I’m referring to the phenomenon of reporting on who a celebrity is supporting for office. What’s the point? Who gives a shit?
If it’s to show people how ‘cool’ someone is, mission failed. Have you heard some of these dunces? If Jessica Simpson comes out and says “I support Hilary!” is that going to make you more likely to support Clinton? If I found myself thinking in a manner similar to Jessica Simpson I’d think it was time to do a 180 in my thinking and/or blow my fucking face off after prepping the area with a chainsaw facial.
I’m just saying, people like actors and musicians who are paid millions to literally work and live in a fantasy world; probably not the best judges of what’s best for the county/state/country. So if you are basing your political decisions on how they plan to vote in anyway, please feel free to give yourself the aforementioned chainsaw facial followed by a hearty dose of buckshot for breakfast.
For those wondering I endorse myself in ’08. Despite not being legally of age, I’m pretty sure they can pass a quickie amendment to fix all that real quick. Write me in!
